If you have a special party coming up, why not add chinese lanterns as a part of the decorations. These lanterns are a bit different from your everyday party decoration, yet it will leave your attendees amazed and shocked. Chinese-made lanterns are becoming more and more popular at parties and within different groups. One does not have to be of Chinese or Asian decent to incorporate the tradition of celebrating with the lanterns.

There are lanterns for every party type and theme. There is an abundance of colors and even shapes to choose from. So for football parties, one can have lanterns in their favorite team colors, and even have lanterns in the shape of a football. For valentines day, red lanterns can be hung, or flown and add some heart shaped ones, for an even more fun themed party.

As many are aware, the lanterns came from China thousands of years ago. The Chinese used lanterns to communicate with others that were at a far distance. So they would have these lanterns and then send them in the sky. The sky would be filled and lit up. But their message(s) got across. Over the years it became a symbol of bidding good luck or good fortune to new and welcoming occasions.

Fast forward to today, and the use of chinese lanterns have become an accessory to use at parties. Although at weddings or births, for good luck or blessings,  these lanterns may be lit and released in the sky,or they can simply be used as party decorations too.

One great benefit of chinese lanterns is that they are made from safe materials for the environment. They can be purchased or even handmade. It is a great craft to do with children as the materials needed are easily found in local stores. No matter the type of party, whether adult or child themed, adding chinese lanterns to any party decoration and/or releasing them to the sky can make for a fun and unique party in which all will be sure to remember. Think about adding chinese lanterns to your next party for a fun filled event!
